My name is Gonzalo. Those who ended up here in this page may probably already know who I am or maybe will recognize me by the photo. I'm a self-taught polymath.

This is not a professional page, this domain name is used more for email purposes and some other things. For those other visitors who are searching someone with my name and would want to know if I am the person they are looking for, I will leave here some stuff about the areas in which I work:

  • Arts - I paint, and also draw in carbon or colors, whenever I have some free time and am in the mood for it. I love Photography and also I write.
    I write and compose Music, here, have an example: Music - To Live With Passion.

  • Software Programming - I have given my first steps on computer programming more than 30 years ago when I was a child and I dedicate part of my free time developing Freeware applications, and computer games, as I believe it is a way to help others and help improve the world we live in. My last big work on freewares is Network Pinger, a network monitoring and system administration tool. I've called it "big" because it has around 200,000 lines of code and because it took me almost one year to make it on my free time, and because it isn't just another one of those small software tools that I occasionally do. I have some other projects in mind at the moment and in progress.

  • Sports - About sports, some may know me from this area, I've practiced several sports during my life, and you may find some video of mine on the Internet (as the one in which I make a kind of "Under-Kick-Flip 540º", being the image at right taken from a video in which I do that trick: Old School Skate - Amadora City), and like to practice other radical sports like Surf, Snowboard. I've practiced some Martial Arts like Wushu and Karate Shotokan, Athletics, Weight Training, or even games like Basketball, Soccer, etc.

  • Ebooks - Writing of technical books, some smaller, others bigger, one of them about Technical Analysis with about 600 pages, some may be available on the Internet, all of them free, because as with everything I do, I believe in giving my works for free. The next one would have to do with new statistical indicators that I've developed.

  • Trading Systems - Developing of many trading systems, some used on websites, others private, some made public others not. Researching on trading systems.

  • Web Development - Creation of many websites and portals of many types, doing not only their programming part as well as their web design, SEO, etc. Some have achieved already the 20,000 visits per day and 20 million hits per month. On some projects that are software related, as some complex projects that require total automation of the portal or some software applications for its users to use, I also create and develop them.

  • Team and Project Management - I manage several teams and projects, specially web projects, national and international ones. I select some of the ideas I usually have, those who have more potential, and develop them, create their teams to manage them, and sometimes manage also teams from other projects not of my own, and not only web projects.

  • System Administration - System Administration, not only professionally as also personally, not only Linux/Unix but also Windows, currently in charge of the maintenance of some web servers.

  • Creation of Statistical and Mathematical Indicators - Researching and creation of several statistical and mathematical indicators and testing them. Math people, don't give me ideas about impossible things to try like finding the next prime number because I only try and study things that I see that are possible to find.

  • Training - I've been passing my know-how to others on the last years on several portals and websites or forums, giving my know-how to those that start on those areas, such as the those who start learning on Trading, and I do it gladly, having even threads with many pages of size on certain forums explaining certain matters.

  • Study of Languages - Study and researching of languages, having created online dictionaries as well as worked in new ways of translating and software developing to use in languages, being one of them in progress at the moment.

  • Procedure Optimization - I like to optimize stuff. I've already done it not only at a personal level but also in companies professionally. I like to arrive to a new team, see what is wrong there, the procedures that take too much time and resources, and help improving the performances of those teams, even developing myself the software to do it. I love to optimize procedures and tasks and cutting on costs. Most of the monitoring and automation software that I've developed before was with this intention.

  • New Technologies - I researched on certain areas like data mining, Artificial Intelligence, compression, predictions, etc. I interest myself on new technologies, not only for what I see on newspapers but also trying to innovate and create new ways to do things. Unfortunately due to my big lack of time I am barely able to dedicate some time to these activities.

  • Feats of Strength - Since January 2014 that I found I was able to bend steel tools, roll frying pans, and other things, with my hands, after 8 years not doing any sport. Since then, from time to time, I try something new, and this way I'm slowly training on the Oldetime-Strongman arts, feats of strength. I don't have much time for those, so I'll never achieve my full potential, but I have fun in the way. One of the strangest things I've done is to roll 2 or 3 or 4 frying pans together, at the same time. I'm 5.9' tall and weight around 150 pounds only.

  • Others - Some other areas of interest not described here. I don't like to stay forever on a single theme. I'm not a fan of the theory that we can only do something well on a single area, the one that says "each monkey on its own branch". I create and develop in any area that I may remember at a given time and want to try out. I like to learn in many areas, research them, develop, practice many different activities. Staying always on the same area would be terribly boring for me, not all areas were spoken here.

  • VEGAN!!!
